The waterfall lies close to the road leading to Costa Rica's northern plains from Alajuela. After navigating 8 kilometers (5 miles) of volcanic terrain, the La Paz River creates the waterfall before continuing through the forest on the Poás volcano's eastern flank. Behind the waterfall is a tiny sanctuary that may be reached through a short route. The so-called La Paz Waterfall Gardens, a hotel and park where guests can view many regional wildlife species, are located upstream of the waterfall.

The Peace Lodge Gardens are a beautiful array of flowers, plants, and trees located in San Jose, Costa Rica. The gardens are spread out over 12 acres and feature a variety of different landscapes, including a rainforest, an orchid garden, and a hummingbird garden.

Visitors to the gardens can also enjoy a cup of coffee or tea at the on-site cafe, or take a stroll through the butterfly garden. The Peace Lodge Gardens are open year-round, so there is always something new to see.
